Today we headed North to take the cows even further North. It was a nice day, one of the nicest we have had in a while. It was actually above freezing and the sun felt wonderful.
The snow is mostly melted except in places where it had drifted. I rode through some drifts trying to get high enough in the hills to reach the cows. My horse worked pretty hard.
My horse wondering how much further we have to climb before we see a dang cow.
Look cows!. I started following these 9 cows, but then looking up into a draw I saw two cows trying to hide under some trees. Poor Josie, (that's my horse), had to climb some more.
My horse needed to stop for a breather now and then so it gave me chance to take a few pictures. I only had my phone this day. It was an amazing view.
I finally got the cows together and headed to Craig Spring to pick up some more.
I met up with Clay at the spring and we headed through the cove.
We gathered to the other cows that Clay had kicked over below the hill and waited for the other riders and their cows.
You can see on the South facing slopes the snow had all melted. These cows were happy about that.

When we got all the cows together and after we ate lunch, I headed home to check on the heifers . We have started calving and are about to get very busy.
A baby I kept warm the night before. Headed back out to put her with her momma.
