APRIL RAIN

In the desert  you can experience all four seasons in one day.  But that really wasn't the case these past two days.  We pretty much just had rain.

We are always happy to see a little moisture in the desert though, so there wasn't much complaining going on.  Not even by me.  I know, shocking.

With the rain comes the pretty wild flowers and feed for livestock and wildlife.

We gathered and trailed the cows from Utah to Nevada.  Sounds like quite a journey hu?  Well it was a ways, but not quite as far as it sounds.    We gathered South of Garrison Utah and headed home to the main ranch in Baker NV.  The journey takes about three days when there are calves involved.  One day when there aren't.

We all dressed for the rain and had a pretty good couple of days.

This little guy was such a trooper.  He wasn't very old but with the encouragement of his momma he just kept on truckin'.  He was my favorite.

Aww what a cutie.  I love my cows. (mine)  haha

There was no dust. That was a nice change.

The puppies had to wait in the truck while we crossed the highway.   They just want to help.  Aren't they cute?

Obviously, I was in front of the herd.  This cow may have discovered me.
I brought the truck around and was able to get some pictures with my camera rather than just my phone.

We sure do have pretty cows.

Mom are we there yet?

We got across the state line and the cows were headed in.   The cowboys went out today to finish up.
What a wonderful cattle drive.  There is nothing like the smell of the desert after, or in this case, while it rains.

Can almost smell the sagebrush, no smell like it! And those beautiful babies, fantastic, all look really good! Moms do too! Never thought about it but no dust was a good thing! Cowboys looked good too, thanks so much for sharing, just love this blog, so proud of you all.

Yep, I think the cows are beautiful creatures, as well - although I do lean more toward horses - but they are all lovely animals.

Get a lump in my throat when I see your blog. Always see 'Clee there one way or another. I am sure he is along for the drives as well. Thank you for keeping us all abreast. I so miss being in the Valley.
