The dust, wind and lack of feed can sure be demoralizing, especially when your livelihood depends on it.
We didn't get snow over the winter, then spring was just as dry, and now we are starting into summer, and are as dry as a bone.

Spring work continued through it all.  It was a bit different this year.  We didn't have the cows on the desert , due to lack of feed. They calved in the feedlot. So branding time was a bit different.  The cowboys had to run most of the calves on the calf table.  We managed a few rope brandings, that were successful and fun for all.

Here's a little slideshow of the brandings we did.

We get a little special help sometimes.  Future cowboys here.

There was a little green up in the meadow above town.  We took the heifers here to spend some time.
