Not The Beach Anymore

Back from Florida and back to the range.  It has been windy here and I want to go back to the beach. Even though we are dealing with the wind it is still a beautiful site to see the cows and calves on the range.
Trailing cows and calves is a slow and sometimes frustrating process.  It takes a long time to go a short distance, but we still need to move them to different water spots so they can eat fresh feed.
We haul water to most of the range.  This is a tank they set up that fills the tubs.  That isn't dirty water, just some rust.  Getting water to the cows is a full time job on the desert.

This is a water collector set up by the BLM.  It catches rain water and holds it in the tin so the birds can drink.  It is usually dry because we don't get much rain.
That is Clay's dog Cali posing in the picture.

Dave on Goucho.  He is coming along well.

Clay on Alice.  She does well if she would just quit her bucking.

It is windy and kind of cool, but spring is making it's way through. This is some Indian Paint Brush starting to bloom.

babies and moms look great, Goucho looks good and glad he is becoming a good horse, Clay and Alice, well if you remember my dear Blondi was a fabulous cow horse but she would pop a buck every now and then too, not sure why, just so Clay stays safe and she does not get too carried away! Love the pics, always good and makes my day, nothing like being home!
