This little horse is Alice.  Clay has been training her.  I rode her this spring, then one day she decided to buck me off.  That was enough for me.  Clay is a much better rider than I am and also knows more about horse training.

Horse training is a huge commitment.  It takes a lot of time and patience.  Here Clay is warming her up  before he gets on.  It is important that she respect him and know that he is the one in charge.

Clay tries to get her used to a variety of things.  Here is practicing with the rope, having her hold it with a little tension. This will help her become a good rope horse someday.

Riding the young horses is necessary pretty much every day, no matter what the weather.  Clay is doing a great job with her. I know someday she will be a good horse.  Who knows, maybe in 5 or 10 years I will be brave enough to get on her again.

Wow what a great job Clay is doing, he really has a good sense of making a horse into a good horse, seems to have a good quiet way of doing things, very proud of him! Alice will make a fine horse, but like you said takes lots of miles and wet blankets, I really like her size, but looks like she is Clays horse.

Clay does do a great job and if he wants to keep her after all his hard work on her, he can.
