Our cattle are made up of three basic breeds.  We raise Simmental,  Hereford and Angus breeds.  The combination often makes a black cow with a white face, or a black bally.   These cows have proven to be hearty on the the desert winter range.

The red cow with the white markings on her face, belly and feet is a Hereford.

The solid black cow is an Angus or Simmental. The differences are in the hair and frame of the animal and the Simmental is usually larger boned and bigger, and can have some white markings at times.
We like our cows.  They are good cows.

I did not know you had Simmental in your cattle, this was very interesting, continue to learn! Very good pics again, I like your cows too! Great blog, you do such a great job, wish more people were checking it out!
