We got up before the sun today to try to beat the heat.  It has been near a 100 degrees or over for several days now.
It is a beautiful time of day.  We really should start at this hour every day.

We were taking the heifers from the field near our house up the bench to the Roland Ranch.  It is a rocky bench and the heifers don't herd real well.  Anytime we move heifers it is quite a job.
We had to go through several gates and across two highways.  Anything out of the ordinary confuses the heifers.  Heck, the ordinary confuses a heifer.

It was a little dusty.

We finally got to the meadows. The dogs were a big help, but the heat was hard on them.

It was nice to reach the creek where the horses and dogs could cool down.  It was only 8:30am by now and already hot.
