Winter has set in and it has been a little cold.  So of course that means saddle up.
I put the blanket on Josie to keep her toasty warm in the trailer.

As always, the latest in cowgirl fashion.

This was on Saturday.  Dave and I went out South and discovered cows had headed into the ranch there. We had to take them back up into the hills.
Picture
It was a whopping 11 degrees.  But there was no wind and at times a little sun.  So it actually was quite nice. The mountains and the sky were beautiful.

Then a couple of days ago we went to Garrison to get the cows ready to head East.  By get ready, I mean get the neighbor's cows out and any others that may have snuck into that herd. It was snowing and made for some neat pictures.  This is Clay on Vanilla.

Sometimes I think the cowboys get tired of me always taking pictures.  And let me tell you, carrying the camera and taking pictures from a horse in weather like this is not easy.

Here is Dave on Goucho.  Dave is always a good sport about my picture taking, unless I forget to pay attention to the cows and the job we are trying to get done.

There were several geese in the field.

There was no school this day so we had our youngest cowboy to help.

That was Monday. On Tuesday we headed out.  It was a little windy and not particularly warm.  Actually temperature wise it was around 30 degrees, but with the wind it felt colder than the 11 degrees did the other day. I really hate wind.
Picture
So this was my solution to the wind. haha.  Yep I am in there somewhere and giving that cowgirl fashion another new look.
Picture
The guys counted the cows out of the gate.  There were 382.  We will need to know that number when we bring them back in in the spring.
Picture
We headed out.  We had quite a long journey.  It's funny how the camera doesn't capture the wind.

The water trough.

There was a lot of ice on the trough.  Dave and Clay chopped and chopped.

My favorite picture of the day.

I took this one by mistake.

The cowboys brought the cows the rest of the way while we, (they) chopped the ice.

Even though the wind blew and the sky was grey, it was a good day on the range.

Great Blog post. I'm thinking that you might get 12 of your best photos and make a calendar for next Christmas. I'll go in on it with you and give some as gifts as well.

Not one of the guys had thier ears covered, what the heck! I absolutely love your sense of humor, you continue to crack me up, you are a very funny person! Love the pics but made me cold to watch, I remember how cold it can be on the back of a horse in the winter! Thanks so much for sharing, know it cannot be easy, but love it, keep warm, a calendar is a great idea!
