Of all the vacations we take our favorite is going camping in the Shell Creek Mountains of NV.
The view is like looking down from the top of the world. You can see into the valleys and across to several other mountain ranges. The picture below is looking into Spring Valley and across to Mt Wheeler.
You can see Robison Mine and the ranches below.
The wild flowers were amazing. Even the dead trees seemed alive.
We hiked along steep rocks and high on the peaks.
We enjoyed hanging out with some of our friends.
I found my name in some trees. Also my brother, Chad and his son Travis, along with my kids. I know we shouldn't put our names in trees and no longer do. But it was kind of fun to find them. I have been going to this area since about 1977. I love sharing the place and the memories with my family.
Enes was an old Basque cowboy that was on the ranch I grew up on. I was a kid, but remember him pretty well.
We saw some wild life.
The views were endless. I couldn't get tired of looking at them, or taking pictures of them apparently.
We eventually had to hit the road home and head back to reality. We can't wait for our next trip up there.
